Pay Attention

 I'm at a county park and today is the day to mow. Lots of guys showing with mowers, weed eaters, and blowers. Not a big deal. What you need to be careful of is that these guys who might be paying a little too much attention to you. One guy stared for a long time when he thought I couldn't see him. He continued to steal long glances. Maybe not a big deal but... I have expensive stuff like generators, power tools, gasoline. When you live like this you need to pay attention to your surroundings and people near you. Be observant. Use your camera. I take pictures of people and cars I find suspicious. When I leave for the store today, I'll leave the park then turn around and watch my shit for 10 minutes where I'm not seen. I've chased away curious onlookers that way. Be unpredictable. Let them see the dog. I need a security camera now that I have WiFi.  Don't be in fear. Just pay attention.

TX State Park Reservations

 Texas needs to step up it's game. The sorry reservation system is antiquated compared to NM and CO. I have to have an occupant in my toad. They charge per person on top of the advertised price. Why the hidden fee? Every campground is full on weekends. You can't get a reservation. To reserve, you need to do it 5 months in advance at 8 am. TX needs more camping options. NOT more RV Parks. I hardly ever make reservations. I find them restricting my movements. If a campground sucks, I feel obligated to stay and if it's good, I have to leave to get to my next reservation. As long as I don't move on weekends, I'm always fine. Always have a fallback plan.

The Wonder Years

  I have almost zero pictures of my childhood. Summers in Wisconsin, Phoenix, NY, Washington. Nothing. Two photographers in the family so I know they exist. I've asked on several occasions but gave up long ago. Just more of the disrespect I've received over the years. The only thing I asked to receive from my mom's estate was a few of my dad's paintings. I have lots of paintings I'd like to find a home for someone who would enjoy them. I need the space and nowhere to hang them. In this here, you can see my arms crossed in front of me. I'm trying to hide my coat because it's light with a bow tie and my brothers had dark coats and long ties. Didn't my parents realize how little boys and girls want to fit in? I embrace difference now in part because of this kind of shit in my childhood. I wore "hand me downs" until middle school. That's the first I remember getting something of my own. I always had to wear these clumsy shoes that were too big ...
