TX State Park Reservations


 Texas needs to step up it's game. The sorry reservation system is antiquated compared to NM and CO. I have to have an occupant in my toad. They charge per person on top of the advertised price. Why the hidden fee? Every campground is full on weekends. You can't get a reservation. To reserve, you need to do it 5 months in advance at 8 am. TX needs more camping options. NOT more RV Parks.

I hardly ever make reservations. I find them restricting my movements. If a campground sucks, I feel obligated to stay and if it's good, I have to leave to get to my next reservation. As long as I don't move on weekends, I'm always fine. Always have a fallback plan.

Mr Beau Update

  It's clear that Beau isn't getting any better. He's definitely worse. I got him to eat a can of tuna last night and this morning. He has little balance and weak. I hold him on my lap and give him love for as much as I can. I made an appointment with the Vet Hospital on Monday afternoon. I'll be prepared to have him put down then. He's 13 yrs old and has had a big life. I don't know how long I'll cry but I sure will miss him.
