Essential: Water Containers

7 gallon containers are nice from Wally World. If you can’t carry 60 lbs, then only fill what you can carry. I have 4 of these plus I fill various plastic jugs. Everybody’s different. I want enough for 14 days if possible, but I don’t want to neglect hot showers (2 each week), dishes, just like everybody else.

Again, it’s not a vacation. This is ongoing and you should pay attention.

My MH holds 40 gallons. Whenever possible, I fill everything. NEVER go below 2 gallon jugs. Water in the tank is useless if there’s a dead battery. Don’t fuck with luck. Water is pretty important. Water at your destination? Don’t bet the farm on that. You may struggle finding water after dark ONCE. I arrived at a KOA and water line had busted. Don’t tempt fate. If possible, try Water Mill Express or Walmart. Buy a water bandit, $5 at Walmart. It’ll allow you to get water from faucets, showers, etc.

I used to use an electric pump that can suck out all 4 containers in less than 5 minutes. Now I just use gravity and put the container on the roof of the car. I made a custom tap that I can attach the water bandit. I even store jugs of water when I'm at the rv parks. Water gets shutoff. Stay self sufficient always.
